For many customers who are new to gondola shelving, the first time setting it up can be maddening. Gondola has eleven components and it is considered a common member item. This means each section will have an uneven number of components, because the first section in the row has more components then every other section in the row. Sound confusing doesn’t it? To help our customers, MidAtlantic Store Fixtures now has created generic gondola assembly instructions to help our customers understand this potentially frustrating process.
*THESE ARE GENERIC ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS. EACH BRAND OF GONDOLA HAS MINOR DIFFERENCES.
THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE ONLY INTENDED TO ASSIST YOU IN THE ASSEMBLY OF WHICHEVER BRAND YOU HAVE.
REMEMBER THAT YOU WILL ONLY HAVE ENOUGH COMPONENTS TO ASSEMBLE YOUR GONDOLA THE WAY YOU PURCHASED IT. YOU CAN NOT PURCHASE A SINGLE ROW OF GONDOLA AND BREAK IT INTO TWO ROWS AS YOU WILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH COMPONENTS TO DO SO.
REFER TO PULL SHEET BASIC COMPONENTS
BASIC COMPONENTS:
- UPRIGHTS (or POSTS) “A” AS NOTED ON THE “PULL SHEET”
- FOOT (or BASE BRACKETS) “B”
- BOTTOM BRACE “C”
- CENTER BRACE “D”
- TOP CAP “E”
- PEGBOARD BACK PANEL (MAY BE IN 2 PCS OF DIFFERENT SIZES w/ A SPLICER)
- BASE DECK (BOTTOM DECK) “G”
- KICK PLATE (or BASE FRONT) “H”
- SHELVES
- IF FEET ARE NOT ALREADY ATTACHED TO UPRIGHTS (POSTS), MOUNT FEET TO THE FRONT SURFACE SLOTS OF THE UPRIGHTS. *ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION TO THE SIZE OF THE BASE THAT IS CALLED FOR AS NOT ALL THE FEET MAY BE THE SAME SIZE (END UNIT BASES FREQUENTLY ARE DIFFERENT THAN CENTER GONDOLA BASES). MOUNT FEET TO ONE SIDE OF THE UPRIGHT FOR AN “END UNIT” OR “WALL GONDOLA” AND BOTH SIDES OF AN UPRIGHT FOR “CENTER GONDOLA” THERE ARE IN SOME CASES, UPRIGHTS w/ A SINGLE LINE OF SLOTS WHICH ARE FOR THE BEGINNING OR END OF A LINE, AND UPRIGHTS w/ 2 SETS OF SLOTS WHICH ARE FOR CONNECTING GONDOLA SECTIONS TO THE NEXT SECTION. HOWEVER, SOME BRANDS HAVE ONLY A SINGLE SLOT SO THIS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOUR SPECIFIC ORDER.
- HOLDING TWO UPRIGHTS (w/ FEET ATTACHED), ATTACH A BOTTOM BRACE AND THEN A CENTER BRACE BY INSERTING THE TABS ON THE BRACES INTO THE SLOTS ON THE INNER SIDES OF THE UPRIGHTS.
- INSERT THE PEGBOARD BACK INTO THE SLOT IN THE UPRIGHTS. FOR “CENTER GONDOLA” AND “END UNITS”, INSERT PEGBOARD BACK ON TWO SIDES; FOR “WALL GONDOLA”, ON ONE SIDE ONLY. THE BACK PANEL MAY BE IN 2 PIECES (OF DIFFERENT SIZES) WITH A SPLICER STRIP TO JOIN THE 2 PANELS TOGETHER.
- MOUNT THE TOP CAP ACROSS THE PEGBOARD BACK AND INTO THE SLOTS OF THE UPRIGHTS.
- MOUNT THE KICK PLATE TO THE FACE OF THE BASE BY SLIDING IT DOWN OVER THE FEET OR IN SOME CASES, IT IS A “WEDGE FIT”
- MOUNT THE BASE DECK BY INSERTING PRONGS ON BACK OF THE BASE INTO SLOTS ON UPRIGHTS AND DROP THE BASE ONTO THE FEET.
- INSERT SHELVES AT DESIRED HEIGHTS
- WHEN ADDING ADDITIONAL SECTIONS TO A LINE, REMEMBER TO USE THE COMMON UPRIGHT (POST) OF THE PREVIOUS SECTION.
